Thai authorities have decided to allow the use of the USDT cryptocurrency for paying for goods and services within the country. This move is aimed at simplifying financial transactions and expanding options for international tourists who wish to use digital assets.

When the new rules will come into force

The new rules will come into force on 16 March 2025, from which time tourists will be able to pay with cryptocurrency at most retail outlets and service providers.
