Federation Council hints at 'Crimean' scenario for Donbas

A few days ago, LNR leader Plotnitsky stated that the so-called "Lugansk People's Republic" is ready to remain part of Ukraine, but only within the framework of autonomy.

Moreover, the leaders of the DPR and LNR demanded amendments to the country's constitution, one of the points of which is non-aligned status. In addition, the militants are demanding the lifting of the economic blockade and amnesty for themselves and their fellow terrorists.

While the country's government is considering how to tactfully refuse the separatists, Russia is actively pushing the Ukrainian leadership towards a decision favourable to the Russian Federation.

Thus, today, one of the senators of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Kosachev, resorted to outright blackmail and publicly stated that Donbas may face a "Crimean" scenario if Ukraine does not make concessions to him.
