Sean Connery and his wife accused of fraud

Famous British actor Sean Connery and his wife are accused of fraud in Spain. The couple bought property in various countries around the world for years using the actor's earnings, while the actual value of the homes was understated.

As a result, the couple paid significantly less in taxes than they would have if the transactions had been registered at their actual value. Over a period of more than 50 years, the pair managed to underpay taxes by 5.5 million pounds sterling.

All financial affairs were managed by Connery's wife – Micheline. It is she who is currently facing fraud charges in Spain; the 85-year-old actor is currently listed as a witness in the case, although it is not ruled out that he may soon join his wife on the defendant's bench.
