Russia recruits Ukrainians for attacks on TCC, then eliminates them

A new report published by The Washington Post reveals the scheme used by Russian intelligence services to organise attacks on Ukrainian territory. According to the publication, the FSB and GRU are actively seeking operatives among Ukrainians who express pro-Russian views in online chats and social media.

Recruitment is conducted under the pretext of sabotage operations, with operatives promised remuneration ranging from $500 to several thousand dollars. However, as WP sources note, many of those who agree to carry out the task do not receive the promised money — they are eliminated before payment is made.

Remote detonation of explosive devices is most often used, allowing Russian agents to eliminate witnesses and avoid exposure. This scheme confirms Moscow's tactics aimed at destabilising the situation in Ukraine.
