Attempt to illegally export aircraft engines thwarted

Kyiv-based entrepreneurs illegally attempted to export military transport aircraft engines from Ukrainian territory. The individuals delivered the units to a customs post in Kyiv and attempted to clear customs without holding a permit from the export control service. However, the smuggling was stopped by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Товари подвійного призначення, які підлягають державному експортному контролю, намагалися передати до однієї з країн близького зарубіжжя посадовці київського комерційного підприємства. (Officials of a Kyiv commercial enterprise attempted to transfer dual-use goods subject to state export control to one of the near-abroad countries.)

Наприкінці лютого ц.р. зловмисники доставили авіа-агрегати до митного посту «Західний» у Києві. Дозвіл Державної служби експортного контролю України для відправки вантажу за кордон буввідсутній, тому правоохоронці заборонили експорт запчастин. (At the end of February this year, the perpetrators delivered the aircraft units to the "Zakhidny" (Western) customs post in Kyiv. A permit from the State Export Control Service of Ukraine for shipping the cargo abroad was absent, so law enforcement officers prohibited the export of the parts.)

Фахівці Міністерства оборони України підтвердили, що вилучені авіадвигуни призначені для використання як у цивільній, так і у військовій сфері. (Experts from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine confirmed that the seized aircraft engines are intended for use in both the civilian and military sectors.)

Слідчими Головного управління ‪#‎СБУ у м. Києві та Київській області розпочато кримінальне провадження за ч. 1 ст. 333 (порушення порядку здійснення міжнародних передач товарів, що підлягають державному експортному контролю) Кримінального кодексу України. (Investigators of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 333 (violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.)
