Poland prepares for emergencies

Polish authorities have launched a large-scale campaign to train citizens on how to act in emergencies. Every household in the country will receive a government handbook by the end of the year, containing key recommendations for actions in various crisis situations. According to RMF24, it details the steps that will help people effectively cope with unforeseen circumstances.

Recommendations for actions during power outages and evacuations

The handbook covers several important aspects of preparation and response to critical situations. Among the main points:

• Actions in the event of a prolonged power outage lasting up to 72 hours;
• Essential food and water supplies, as well as recommendations for their storage;
• Code of conduct during an evacuation and measures to ensure safety in conditions of limited resources.

Basics of first aid and protection in emergencies

An important part of the guide is dedicated to civil defence and providing first aid. In addition, the handbook will offer advice on safety in the event of natural disasters, as well as recommendations for caring for pets in extreme conditions.
