Orban threatens to block sanctions extension again

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has once again threatened to block the extension of European sanctions against Russia in six months if Ukraine does not restore the transit of Russian gas. This was reported by the Bloomberg agency.

Orban claims that this week he received guarantees from the EU executive body regarding the resumption of transit through Ukraine, which led to the suspension of his block on the sanctions extension.

However, he added that if these promises are not fulfilled, Hungary will not only propose to repeal the sanctions but will also insist on their removal.
