Debris of crashed Russian passenger plane found

Debris of the crashed Russian passenger plane that was flying from Sharm El Sheikh to St Petersburg this morning has been found in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula.

According to data from the global flight tracking portal FlyRadar24, the aircraft began losing altitude at a rate of 2 kilometres per minute before it disappeared from radar.

Egyptian rescue workers hope that the black boxes, which are currently being searched for, will provide more information about the causes of the crash.

There were 7 crew members, 200 adult passengers and 17 children of various ages, ranging from infants to teenagers, on board the aircraft, who were on holiday in Egypt. Preliminary information indicates that none of them survived.
