National Guard deployed to Dnipro to maintain order

Contrary to the words of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, information appeared today on the official Twitter account of the National Guard of Ukraine stating that two of its battalions have been sent to Dnipro to maintain order.

It is not specified from whom or what the National Guard intends to protect the city's residents, but according to information from Twitter, this is an order from the country's President, Petro Poroshenko.

 

“Відповідно до Указу Президента України два батальйони Нацгвардії прямують до Дніпропетровська для охорони громадського порядку” (In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine, two National Guard battalions are heading to Dnipropetrovsk to maintain public order), reads the post on Twitter.

 

One would like to believe that this is not a new round of feuds between oligarchs or a method of intimidation and pressure on Dnipropetrovsk Governor Igor Kolomoisky.
