Fraudulent scheme involving OLX, UAPAY and Nova Poshta

The OLX classifieds platform has long been a hub for fraud. As it turns out, there are numerous such schemes, one of which is the so-called “OLX delivery”, which the platform positions as a secure transaction.

The scheme works as follows:

- the buyer tops up their balance and purchases the item;

- the item arrives at their Nova Poshta branch;

- the client refuses the parcel;

- the UAPAY payment service refunds the money to them;

- the buyer goes to the branch and collects the item.

Now for the most interesting part – the seller does not receive a single penny. UAPAY claims it has refunded the buyer, Nova Poshta states it has released the parcel, and OLX simply prefers to ignore all complaints.

As a result, there is no end in sight. Whether there is collusion at some stage with the aforementioned entities or the fraudsters are simply exploiting the system's flaws is a matter of speculation, but the fact remains a fact. Be careful.!
