Defence Ministry cleared to conduct electronic procurement

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has finally signed a decree allowing the Ministry of Defence to conduct electronic procurement without hindrance. At present, the purchase of food, clothing, and fuel is authorised. It remains to complete minor bureaucratic procedures within the ministry. However, many believe this is only the first step.

 

According to experts, electronic procurement will help save at least 10–15% of state funds and will significantly complicate the lives of corrupt officials who have been "sitting" on tenders for years, receiving kickbacks from auction winners.
