Marina Lozovenko may head Odesa’s Kyiv district administration

According to sources in the Odesa city council, Marina Lozovenko, a deputy from the “Trust the Deeds” party, may take up the post of head of the Kyiv district administration, replacing Vladimir Sushkov in the role. 

A past marred by scandals

Lozovenko, who previously headed the company “Pick-Stroy”, was placed under investigation in 2021 in a case involving the embezzlement of 27 million hryvnia in tenders. After her arrest, she managed to secure her release on bail.

A departing figure with a controversial reputation

Vladimir Sushkov, who has headed the administration since 2010, was implicated in corruption schemes, including receiving a bribe of $40,000 in 2013, and also found himself at the centre of a scandal involving a fire at the “Victoria” children’s camp.
