Lithuania proposes date for Ukraine's EU accession and insists on weapons supplies

President Nauseda: Ukraine should become an EU member by 2030

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda stated the need to set clear deadlines for Ukraine's accession to the European Union. In his view, the country should officially join the EU on 1 January 2030.

Military support is an urgent priority

Nauseda also emphasised that Europe cannot delay the issue of military aid to Ukraine. He called on EU countries to accelerate the supply of modern weapons, including systems capable of long-range strikes. According to him, this will be a key factor in strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities and protecting its sovereignty.

The Lithuanian leader is not for the first time actively advocating in support of Ukraine, insisting on strengthening sanctions against Russia and accelerating Kyiv's European integration.
