Underground laboratory for producing counterfeit drugs shut down

In Kyiv Oblast, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine shut down an underground laboratory for the production of potent pharmaceutical preparations.

The medications were released under well-known brands, after which they were smuggled abroad.

«Співробітники ‪#‎СБУ ліквідували в Київській області підпільну лабораторію з виготовлення сильнодіючих та отруйних лікарських засобів. Половина контрафактних ліків, серед яких підробки відомих препаратів − метандієнон, нандролон і тестостерон, контрабандно переправлялася, зокрема, до країн ЄС.

(Officers of the SBU shut down an underground laboratory in Kyiv Oblast for the production of potent and poisonous pharmaceuticals. Half of the counterfeit drugs, including fakes of well-known preparations – methandienone, nandrolone, and testosterone, were smuggled, among other places, to EU countries.)

Члени злочинного угруповання налагодили виробництво та фасування фальсифікованих препаратів у власних приватних приміщеннях на Київщині. Загалом підпільна лабораторія виготовляла понад 50 найменувань підроблених ліків.

(Members of the criminal group organised the production and packaging of counterfeit preparations in their own private premises in Kyiv Oblast. In total, the underground laboratory produced over 50 types of fake drugs.)

Для реалізації контрафактної продукції створили власний інтернет-ресурс, який нібито був офіційним веб-порталом європейської компанії, що виготовляє та реалізовує високоякісні сильнодіючі лікарські засоби для професіональних спортсменів. Назву "відомої" торговельної марки шахраї вигадали.

(To sell the counterfeit products, they created their own internet resource, which purported to be the official web portal of a European company that manufactures and sells high-quality potent pharmaceuticals for professional athletes. The name of the "well-known" trademark was invented by the fraudsters.)

По Україні зловмисники надсилали фальсифікати поштовими відправленнями, а також задіяли мережу зацікавлених посередників з спортсменів. За кордон фальсифікат надходив контрабандно − шляхом міжнародних відправлень та кур’єрами.

(Within Ukraine, the criminals sent the counterfeits by postal shipments and also involved a network of interested intermediaries from among athletes. Abroad, the counterfeits were delivered via smuggling – through international shipments and couriers.)

У результаті спецоперації співробітники СБ України затримали двох організаторів безпосередньо під час надсилання великої партії сильнодіючих ліків до однієї з країн ЄС. Фальсифікати були сховані у блоці живлення, в міжнародному поштовому відправленні.

(As a result of a special operation, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained two organisers directly while they were sending a large batch of potent drugs to one of the EU countries. The counterfeits were hidden in a power supply unit in an international postal shipment.)

Під час обшуків у помешканнях затриманих та у підпільній лабораторії правоохоронці вилучили понад 10 кг сировини для виробництва сильнодіючих лікарських засобів, готову продукцію − ампули, блістери з пігулками, колби загальною кількістю понад 30 тисяч шт., голограми і наклейки, а також упаковки, які копіюють продукцію відомих виробників, інструкції та схеми, прилади для фасування і пакування готової продукції. Вага супутніх речовин та сполук для виробництва сильнодіючих лікарських засобів перевищує 200 кг. Співробітники спецслужби також вилучили банківські картки та понад 70 000 доларів США готівкою.

(During searches at the detainees' residences and in the underground laboratory, law enforcement officers seized over 10 kg of raw materials for the production of potent pharmaceuticals, finished products – ampoules, blisters with pills, flasks totalling over 30,000 units, holograms and stickers, as well as packaging that copies the products of well-known manufacturers, instructions and diagrams, and equipment for packaging and wrapping finished products. The weight of auxiliary substances and compounds for the production of potent pharmaceuticals exceeds 200 kg. Officers of the special service also seized bank cards and over 70,000 US dollars in cash.)
