The devaluation of the Russian ruble continues on the Moscow Exchange. A new all-time high was reached this morning: the dollar-to-ruble rate crossed the 85-ruble mark, while the euro surged above 91 rubles.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank is not rushing to raise the benchmark, setting the official rate at 79.46 rubles per dollar and 87.03 per euro.

It is virtually impossible to buy foreign currency at exchange offices. People have been queuing since early morning, yet only a handful manage to make a purchase.

The ruble's decline is driven by falling oil prices on the global market.
