Elon Musk changes Twitter account name again

On the eve of the New Year, Elon Musk renamed his Twitter account, causing the meme tokens KM and KEKIUS to surge in price. However, yesterday Musk reverted his Twitter account to its old name. As a result, the tokens lost 80-90% of their value from the peak.

Musk and memes: another spike in hype

Elon Musk, known for his love of memes and shock value, once again triggered a volatile reaction in the cryptocurrency market. His avatar featuring a frog served as a catalyst for the creation of new meme tokens, which instantly became objects of speculation. However, the hype surrounding them proved short-lived: as soon as attention to the avatar waned, token prices crashed.

The decline of the meme token market

Within hours, KM and KEKIUS lost almost all of the value gains observed against the backdrop of the surge in interest. This development was a predictable outcome, given the short-term nature of such market phenomena.

One can only sympathise with those who bought the coins at the peak of the hype.
