Director of Poltava region distillery exposed for tax evasion

A large-scale tax evasion scheme orchestrated by the former director of a distillery in the Poltava region has been exposed.

According to the investigation, the company's management deliberately misclassified its products. To avoid paying excise duty, ethyl alcohol was sold as a spirit solvent, which is exempt from tax levies.

The financial fraud, involving the falsification of data, caused damage to the state budget of nearly 2.5 billion hryvnia. Law enforcement agencies are currently continuing the investigation, and those responsible face severe penalties for violating tax legislation.
