OpenAI director denies violence allegations

OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman has denied allegations made by his sister, Annie Altman, who claims she was the victim of sexual abuse by him when she was three years old.

In a statement signed by their mother and two brothers, published on the X platform, Sam called the allegations false and offensive.

The Altman family explained that they had provided Annie with financial support, covering her expenses and guaranteeing regular payments which, they said, would continue for the rest of her life. However, despite this, her sister continues to demand more money from them.

The most serious of the allegations concerns alleged childhood sexual abuse. The family claims that her testimony has changed repeatedly, and new statements include incidents allegedly occurring after Sam had turned 18.

Altman, known as one of the most influential figures in Silicon Valley, became a figure of global renown following the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, which marked a significant milestone in the development of artificial intelligence and stimulated a global race in the field.
