Financial giant Berkshire Hathaway demonstrates record growth
Warren Buffett's investment empire has set a new financial record. The operating profit of his company, Berkshire Hathaway, rose by 27% in 2024, reaching $47.44 billion compared with $37.35 billion a year earlier.
The main factor behind such substantial growth was an increase in underwriting and investment income in the insurance sector. Insurance operations accounted for a significant portion of the profit, strengthening Berkshire Hathaway's position in the market.
The final quarter of 2024 was also record-breaking: operating profit rose by 71% to $14.53 billion, compared with $8.48 billion in the same period last year. The growth was driven not only by successful insurance operations but also by favourable changes in exchange rates.
Berkshire Hathaway's quarterly net profit reached $19.69 billion, equivalent to $13,695 per Class A share. A significant impact on the results was exerted by the rise in the value of the company's assets, including investments in Apple and American Express. For the full year, net profit amounted to an impressive $89 billion.
Thus, Warren Buffett has once again proven his reputation as a genius investor, turning 2024 into one of the most successful years in the history of Berkshire Hathaway.
