Avakov confirms search at Kernes' residence

We recently reported that armed men in masks were spotted at the National hotel in Kharkiv, where city mayor Hennadiy Kernes is staying.

Unofficial information immediately emerged that law enforcement agencies, rather than Korban's men as some had assumed, were conducting investigative actions, specifically a search. Interior Minister Arsen Avakov later confirmed this.

«Да, в Харькове МВД проводит следственные действия по уголовным делам, связанным с преступлениями на майдане» ("Yes, in Kharkiv the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting investigative actions in criminal cases related to crimes on the Maidan"), Avakov stated on his internet page.
