The story of Ukrainian businessman Andriy Matyukha’s Russian passport caused a stir, while his business activities continue to raise questions. Photos confirming Matyukha’s Russian citizenship rapidly spread across social media, becoming a new topic of discussion.

Shortly after this, British media reported that Matyukha had become the owner of the Voda UA trademark. The deal was concluded with the founder of the company of the same name, Dmytro Nikiforov. However, Matyukha acquired not the production itself, but only the rights to the trademark.
This acquisition unexpectedly continued: bottles of water under the Voda UA brand began appearing on the desks of People’s Deputies, as well as in the Cabinet of Ministers. This fact gave rise to speculation that Matyukha is using the new brand as a way to strengthen his influence, expanding his business interests and paving the way into political offices.
Despite attempts to diversify his business, the main area of Andriy Matyukha’s interest remains the gambling industry. According to an investigation by the publication "Gazeta", he and his family officially own a number of companies linked to online casinos and betting: Favorit Bet, Favorit Jackpot, Planeta Sporta, FavBet Bookmaker Company and others.
Particularly curious remains the fact that even after journalists revealed in 2023 that Matyukha held a Russian passport, his business activity did not decline. On the contrary, he continues to hold key positions in the Ukrainian market, actively expanding his business projects.
Against the backdrop of these events, obvious questions arise. What is the purpose of Matyukha’s business expansion? Why did holding a Russian passport, especially in wartime conditions, not become an obstacle to his activities? And why did the Voda UA brand, linked to its owner’s Russian citizenship, gain such rapid penetration into state structures?
