Trump administration insists on lowering conscription age in Ukraine to 18

Trump's national security adviser Waltz stated that a request would be sent to Ukraine asking it to lower the conscription age to 18. This would allow for the recruitment of hundreds of thousands of new soldiers.

Currently, conscription in Ukraine begins at the age of 25 (officially 26). However, according to Waltz, many do not realise that lowering the mobilisation age could significantly strengthen the army. In his view, such a decision is necessary to stabilise the front line and achieve peace.

Given the acute shortage of personnel, as the adviser notes, if Ukraine demands support from the international community, it must act similarly by making the necessary efforts on the home front.
