Return of pupils from the combat zone
Another group of 11 children has been evacuated from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region. According to data released by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the rescued group includes seven boys and four girls. The children's ages range from 1 year and 4 months to 17 years.
Details of pressure on teenagers
The official representative of the authorities noted that all the children are now in a safe environment and are receiving the necessary assistance. At the same time, he emphasised that during the period of occupation, the children faced systematic pressure and threats from Russian occupation forces.
Teenagers endured a particularly harsh experience. A 16-year-old boy survived an armed attack by Russian military forces on his home. Subsequently, at an occupation school, he was forced, along with other children, to study the rules of handling weapons and the basics of operating combat drones.
Forced mobilisation and propaganda
Another case involves a 17-year-old teenager who was forced, under threat, to attend an educational institution operating under the Russian curriculum. He was later forcibly registered for military service. This boy's family also suffered from regular armed searches conducted by the occupiers.
In addition, cases of pressure on younger children were recorded. For instance, the occupiers threatened to take an 8-year-old girl to an orphanage if she refused to study under Russian Federation educational programmes. At educational institutions, children were forced to participate in propaganda events and create leaflets for the Russian armed forces.
General evacuation statistics
Oleksandr Prokudin added that since the beginning of the current year, a total of 219 children have been returned from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region.
