The Polish army has begun verifying information about a potential violation of the country's airspace. The initiative emerged after residents of Lublin Voivodeship reported a strange loud sound in the sky overnight.

Details of the overnight incident

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces stated that there are suspicions of a possible violation of the state's airspace. Signals from citizens were received at approximately 02:00 in the morning. The police received three reports: two concerned the outskirts of the city of Lublin, and one concerned the territory of Lancut County.

Search operations

To establish the circumstances of the incident, representatives of law enforcement agencies, the Territorial Defence Forces, and the military gendarmerie appeared on the scene. Currently, the police report that no complaints regarding explosions or the fall of any object have been received. As of the time the information was published, the search has yielded no positive results — no suspicious items have been found.

The hypothesis that the sound may have resembled the noise of an unmanned aerial vehicle is not yet confirmed. Authorities continue to determine the true cause of the overnight noise and are verifying the facts of a possible airspace violation.
