Military aviation activated twice in 24 hours

Since the start of the current day, Poland has scrambled military aircraft on two occasions. This decision was made against the backdrop of ongoing Russian air attacks on Ukrainian territory. The Government Centre for Security of Poland (RCB) reported the double activation of defensive forces in its official account on the social network X.

Alert first issued in the east of the country

Residents of Lublin Voivodeship received the first notification. The RCB message stated that the Russian air attack on Ukraine was continuing, the situation was under control, and units of military aviation were already operating in Polish airspace. After a certain period, the threat to this region was lifted.

Second wave of warnings affected Subcarpathia

Several hours later, the RCB again published information regarding the threat and the operation of military aviation. This time, warnings were distributed among residents of Subcarpathian Voivodeship. Approximately one hour after the alert was issued in this region, the threat was also lifted.

The events took place on 18 October 2026.
