Ukrainian citizen released, she has left for Europe

Ukrainian citizen Lyubov Rozhanska, who was detained in Astana, has been released. According to her defence lawyer, the woman has already left Kazakhstan's territory, moving to European Union countries. This became known citing the lawyer's words.

Court proceedings: why no preventive measure was selected

Previously, Rozhanska was detained on a request from Russian authorities on suspicion of child abduction. She spent three days in detention. By law, the court was required to make a decision on a preventive measure within this period, but this did not happen. As a result of the court failing to adopt the relevant decision, the suspect was released.

Parties' positions and the status of the extradition request

According to the defence lawyer, the Astana government conducted a "constructive dialogue with Ukraine" regarding the situation with Rozhanska. At the same time, it is important to note that the Russian Federation's request for the woman's extradition has not been officially withdrawn.
