Technical difficulties during the session

During a speech by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, which contained critical remarks directed at the central authorities, a power supply failure occurred in the plenary hall of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, lighting in the hall is currently being provided by emergency generators.

Situation in the parliamentary committees

Zheleznyak emphasised that the power supply issues affected not only the plenary hall. In his words, there is also no light or internet connection in the premises of the parliament's standing committees. In addition, difficulties with water supply have arisen.

Assessment of responsibility for the situation

The MP expressed the view that responsibility for the current situation in the capital lies with both President Volodymyr Zelensky and Mayor Vitali Klitschko. According to Zheleznyak, these two politicians have been shifting the blame onto each other for a year.
