Fire near industrial giant

A fire has been detected near the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat facility in Bashkortostan. It is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in Russia.

OSINT channel data indicates a fire in the area of the plant. The distance from the city of Salavat to the Ukrainian border is approximately 1,400 kilometres.

According to open-source information, analysis of photos and videos sent by readers suggests that the fire started a few kilometres from a populated area, likely within the oil refinery zone. The exact location of the incident and the scale of the damage have not yet been established.

Facility capacity

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is part of the structure of the Russian Gazprom group. The facility's annual capacity for processing hydrocarbon feedstock reaches 10 million tonnes.

The complex produces over 150 types of products, including:

  • automotive gasoline;
  • diesel fuel;
  • fuel oil and bitumen;
  • polyethylene, styrene and ammonia.

The facility is one of the major objects of the oil refining and petrochemical industry in Bashkortostan.

History of previous strikes

This is not the first time the facility has been subjected to drone attacks.

On 24 September 2025, equipment of the primary processing unit ELOU-AVT-6 was damaged following a strike.

On 14 July 2026, a fire also broke out at the oil refinery. According to OSINT resources, oil processing came to a complete halt at that time.
