Protest at the city hall walls

On October 17, a gathering of citizens took place near the building of the Kyiv City State Administration, demanding the resignation of KMSA head Vitali Klitschko. Several civil society organisations initiated the event.

Organisers' arguments

Participants of the action emphasise the existence of "long-standing systemic problems in city management". According to them, the capital is not ready for the challenges of war, specifically noting gaps in the provision of shelters and alternative power sources.

Demands regarding the mayor's accountability

The event announcement, published on the "March for Kyiv" page, states:

(Klitschko had the authority and resources for all 12 years. He must bear political responsibility and leave his post. There are enough ways this could happen. He can resign voluntarily, lose his position by court verdict or as a result of elections, by transferring authority to the military administration or, indeed, as a result of voluntary mobilisation, as he promised on political talk shows).
