Transgender actress Hunter Schafer had sex changed back in documents

The document change occurred without her consent and was a result of Trump's policy

American actress Hunter Schafer, known for the series "Euphoria" and the film "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes", faced an unexpected bureaucratic problem. Her new passport, issued after the loss of her previous document, listed her sex as male.

The reason is legislative changes

It emerged that this happened as a result of an executive order by Donald Trump, under which US official documents now record only the sex assigned to a person at birth.

Schafer underwent a transgender transition during her teenage years, and for many years, all her documents listed her sex as female. However, after the new rules came into force, her passport was issued with altered data — without any prior notification or consent from the actress herself.

"This doesn't change me, but it creates difficulties"

In a comment to the press, Hunter emphasised that she does not attach much importance to the letter "M" in her passport, as it does not affect her identity. Nevertheless, she acknowledged that such changes could create additional difficulties in travel and legal matters.

"I don't care that the letter 'M' is in my passport. It doesn't affect me as a person, but it can lead to unnecessary difficulties," the actress shared.
