United States President Donald Trump voiced harsh criticism regarding Ukraine's resumption of strikes on Russian oil refining enterprises. In an interview with the Newsmax channel, the American leader called such actions a "disgrace" and emphasised their negative impact on the global energy market.

Accusations of influencing global prices

During the broadcast, the host reminded Trump that he had previously called on President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop attacks on Russian oil industry infrastructure, but Kyiv had resumed such actions. In response, the head of the White House said:

(If you tell me that Zelensky is hitting oil refineries again, then all he is doing is raising global oil prices), the American president stated.

Alternative targets and damage to diesel production

Trump added that, in his opinion, Ukraine has plenty of other objects to strike, so focusing specifically on refineries is not necessary. He emphasised that damage to these plants negatively affects diesel fuel production, which, according to him, is needed by the US and other countries.

(I think it is a disgrace. There are countless other targets. They do not have to hit there. There are many targets that can be struck), the US leader emphasised.

(When he hits refineries where diesel fuel is produced, and it is needed by us and the whole world, he is not doing the world a good service).
