Lowering the speed threshold for stable connection

US corporation SpaceX has introduced new technical restrictions on the operation of Starlink satellite internet terminals within Ukraine. According to available data, the speed threshold at which a stable connection is maintained during movement has significantly decreased. If the initial limit was 160 km/h, connectivity now begins to drop at speeds of 60–70 km/h.

Statement from a volunteer

Public figure and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko spoke about the change in technical parameters. According to him, the initial information concerned restrictions on movement at speeds exceeding 160 km/h. However, it later became clear that the provider had significantly tightened control, resulting in signal loss at much lower speeds.

Impact on frontline tasks and the status of stationary points

The new adjustments from the provider directly affect the use of communication equipment on moving vehicles and the operation of unmanned systems. This has complicated the execution of certain tasks on the front line. Meanwhile, stationary satellite internet terminals continue to operate in normal mode without changes.

As of now, SpaceX has not provided official comments regarding the reasons for implementing the new speed limits.
