Fire at infrastructure facility in Rostov-on-Don
A fire broke out at an oil terminal in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, owned by the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Products Plant. According to journalists, the flames engulfed the tank farm, leaving no undamaged fuel tanks at the facility.
This infrastructure facility previously operated under the name "Yug Rusi" and specialised in oil product operations. Prior to the incident, its annual throughput capacity reached 2.5 million tonnes of oil products. Two vessels with a deadweight tonnage of 3,000 to 5,000 tonnes could moor simultaneously alongside the terminal's pier.
Conditions for halting strikes on energy infrastructure
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously stated that Kyiv is ready to cease strikes on Russian oil refineries on one condition: Russia must stop attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
According to the head of state, halting strikes on energy facilities is possible right now, but Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin is not demonstrating readiness for such a step. Zelensky emphasised that any de-escalation measures must be mutual and accompanied by real guarantees.
