Winged courier at the border

Officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine documented an unusual case of an attempt to move prohibited substances. During an inspection at the border, a pigeon was found carrying a small fabric backpack on its back.

Backpack contents

While examining the contents of the structure attached to the bird, law enforcement officers found 178 tablets containing narcotic substances.

According to the police, law enforcement agencies were previously aware of the existence of such a smuggling method. However, the detention of the pigeon, which was used as a means of transporting cargo, became the first recorded case of successfully intercepting such a courier.
