Popular blogger Oleg Mashkovsky admitted that he dreams of becoming an adoptive parent.

On his Instagram page, he wrote that he is considering adoption and is looking into the issue.

However, under current conditions in Ukraine, this is impossible.

Why adoption is in question

In Ukraine, legislation clearly regulates the adoption process. According to current regulations, a prospective adopter must be in a formal marriage or meet other strict requirements.

In Mashkovsky's case, the lack of a formal marriage is not the main issue. The blogger is in a same-sex relationship. Therefore, he cannot claim the right to adopt a child.
