Preparation for the launch of the lighting system

In Mariupol, which is under Russian occupation, preparations are underway to restore the functioning of street lighting. However, according to available data, a full-scale connection of all streetlights in the city is not planned.

As reported by the publication Ostrov, this was announced by the occupation "mayor" of the city, Anton Koltsov. He emphasised that specialists have already begun the process of test-connecting the networks. The main goal of these measures is to assess the actual load on the city's electrical grid and ensure the stability of the system's operation.

Limited zones and operating schedule

According to Koltsov's statement, lighting will not be activated across the entire territory of the city. Initially, streetlights are planned to be switched on only on central streets, avenues, and the most heavily trafficked main roads.

The occupation head also clarified the operating schedule for the streetlights: they are to be switched on in the evening, and switched off after the start of the curfew.
