News on Maria Konchalovskaya's health condition

Four years ago, a tragedy struck the family of Andrey Konchalovsky and Yulia Vysotskaya. The couple's daughter, Maria, was seriously injured in a road traffic accident. The girl sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. French doctors performed a complex operation on her, after which Maria was placed in an induced coma.

According to Egor Konchalovsky, he has only seen his sister once since that terrible accident. Doctors were preparing to disconnect the girl from life-support machines, but her young body managed to overcome the crisis. The girl was subsequently transferred to Russia.

Egor stated that Maria's rehabilitation will be long and difficult. It appears that the young woman has sustained serious brain damage. According to information previously published in the press, Maria cannot walk, speak, or care for herself independently. It is not ruled out that she may remain disabled for life.
