The demographic situation in the country has worsened: as a result of 2025, the number of Ukraine's residents decreased by 800,000. The main factors behind this decline were rising mortality rates and the mass departure of citizens abroad.

Information on the reduction in population was released by the head of the Migration Policy Office, Vasyl Voskoboynyk.

In the first six months of 2025, the mortality rate exceeded birth rates by 3.5 times.
