The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has officially confirmed the fact of searches being conducted. According to bureau representatives, detectives, under the procedural supervision of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), are carrying out search measures at the premises of the National Bank of Ukraine, as well as at the residence of one of the institution's employees.
In a comment to the media, NABU emphasised:
«У відповідь на запити медіа інформуємо, що детективи НАБУ за процесуального керівництва САП проводять обшуки у приміщенні Національного банку України та за місцем проживання одного зі співробітників» (In response to media inquiries, we inform you that NABU detectives, under the procedural supervision of the SAP, are conducting searches at the premises of the National Bank of Ukraine and at the residence of one of the employees).
The agency noted that during the conduct of these measures, no person was detained, nor was anyone notified of suspicion of committing a crime. All investigative actions were duly authorised and are being carried out in full compliance with current legislation.
Additional details of the case are not disclosed in order to preserve the secrecy of the pre-trial investigation.
Previously, information emerged that NABU was conducting investigative actions regarding the head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andriy Pyshnyy. This data was disseminated by members of parliament.
