Meta to pay Trump $25 million

Meta has agreed to pay $25 million to US President Donald Trump as part of a settlement in a lawsuit filed by him in 2021. The lawsuit was related to the blocking of his accounts on Facebook and Instagram, according to The New York Times.

Under the terms of the agreement, $22 million will be directed to fund Trump's presidential library, while the remaining $3 million will cover legal costs for both the former president and other plaintiffs who joined the case.

Meta does not admit fault but makes concessions

Although Meta has agreed to the payment, the company has not admitted to any wrongdoing. Nevertheless, experts consider this decision a significant concession by the tech giant and a political victory for Trump, who has repeatedly accused social media platforms of censorship.
