Financial deadlock in municipal services

The situation regarding the payment of wages for municipal utility workers in Lviv has intensified. Due to delays in salary payments, part of the staff, particularly street cleaners, has begun to resign. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi points to the main cause of the crisis — the blocking of the city's financial resources by the State Treasury.

How much money is frozen

According to the mayor, access to over 1 billion 86 million hryvnias has currently been denied. These funds were allocated in the budget to finance several critically important areas of the city's activities. The absence of this money in the city's coffers has resulted in municipal services being unable to settle accounts with staff on time, causing a drain of personnel.

Appeal to the government

Andriy Sadovyi called on the Cabinet of Ministers to unblock the frozen funds. The head of the city emphasised that without this, it is impossible to ensure the financing of Lviv's municipal needs and guarantee timely payment of wages to workers in the municipal sector.
