Laura Loomer claims readiness to become White House press secretary

Appeal to the administration

Laura Loomer, an American activist with far-right views and a supporter of US President Donald Trump, publicly offered her candidacy for the position of White House press secretary. On social media, she addressed her audience with the words: “Hear me: press secretary Laura Loomer” (“Почуйте мене: прессекретарка Лора Лумер”).

Work plans and appearance

The activist is convinced that she can effectively perform the duties of this position, calling herself a potentially “amazing press secretary”. She promised to provide the president with access to financial documents: “I would show President Trump all the checks. I would bring my folder of receipts to every briefing” (“Я б показала президенту Трампу всі чеки. Я б приносила свою папку з квитанціями на кожен брифінг”).

To support her position, Loomer published an edited photograph on which she had superimposed an image of blonde hair on herself. Such a hairstyle was characteristic of two of Trump’s previous spokespersons. The caption to the image was concise: "I'm ready" (“Я готова”).
