The management of Kyiv's Dynamo has made a decision regarding a change in the coaching staff. Club president Ihor Surkis appointed Polish specialist Maciej Kendziorek as acting head coach. This change occurred against the backdrop of Ihor Kostyuk's resignation.

Terms of acting duties

The 46-year-old coach will officially lead the team at least until the next Ukrainian Premier League match against Kudrivka.

Path within the club

Maciej Kendziorek has been part of Dynamo's coaching apparatus since August 2025. Prior to receiving his new position, he worked as an assistant to the head coach. His area of responsibility included analytical work and preparing set pieces. He subsequently received additional powers.

Coaching career

The Polish specialist had no experience playing at the professional football level as a player. He began his coaching career in 2003, working with youth teams. In 2009, Kendziorek first took charge of a senior team — Wilga from Garwolin, which at the time was competing in a regional league in Poland. His career was subsequently linked to several clubs in the lower divisions of Polish football.

In 2016, Kendziorek joined the coaching staff of Rakow at the invitation of Marek Papszun. During their collaboration, the club managed to be promoted and returned to the elite division of the Polish championship for the first time in 21 years.

Work with national teams and European competitions

In 2019, Kendziorek was part of the coaching staff of the Poland U21 national team during the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Although the team failed to advance from the group stage, it secured two wins in three matches, which became one of the best results in the team's history at this tournament.

The next step was working for Poland's Arka, followed by joining the coaching staff of Poznań's Lech. Together with Lech, Kendziorek won the Polish championship and reached the quarter-finals of the Conference League in the 2022/23 season. This result is the highest in his European competition career.

Most recent experience before Ukraine

Before moving to Kyiv, Maciej Kendziorek independently led the club Radomiak. The team was fighting to retain its place in the top division and successfully accomplished this task. At the same time, the coach left the club one round before the end of the championship.
