According to statistical data, on Black Friday – 29 November 2019 – the number of sales in online stores and internet networks increased ninefold or more compared to regular days. The most popular items among buyers were:

·         clothing and footwear for children and adults;

·         smartphones and mobile devices;

·         household appliances and equipment;

·         cosmetics.

However, no particular surge was observed in sales of books, toys, tableware, garden items and other categories. The growth in sales in these sectors was insignificant, and in some cases a decline was even noted. This can be explained by discounts on the most in-demand goods. People were waiting for the sale and were not ready to spend money on other products.

According to expert estimates, the Black Friday sale yields even greater results than the pre-New Year sale or any other. However, this is not the case for all goods.
