Former Kyiv City Council member sought by NABU spotted at concert in Austria

Former council member appeared at public event

Journalist Mykhailo Tkach published photos showing Denis Komarnytskyi, who is wanted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), attending a concert by the Russian band “Mashyna Chasu”. The event took place in Vienna in March 2026.

In the photos, the former Kyiv City Council member is seen sitting among the audience in the hall. It is known that after fleeing Ukraine, Komarnytskyi is staying in the Austrian capital. Previously, journalists had already spotted him near the building where he resides in Vienna.

Circumstances of the manhunt and escape

NABU placed Denis Komarnytskyi on the wanted list within the framework of a criminal case concerning the organisation of a scheme to seize land plots in Kyiv.

According to media reports, the former council member’s escape from the country was possible thanks to the assistance of individuals with Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) credentials, as well as employees of the Zakarpattia Strategic Investigations Directorate.
