Blogger Dmitry Chikalo accused of prostitution

Ukrainian blogger Dmitry Chikalo found himself at the centre of a scandal after unexpected circumstances emerged regarding his past. It turned out that he had run into trouble with the law and was even involved in a case related to prostitution.

How did it happen?

In his youth, Chikalo worked as a waiter in a hotel and restaurant complex where, in addition to standard services, other, more specific services were offered. A police raid took place in one of the establishment's rooms, where women of the night were present.

When law enforcement officers burst into the room, the blogger was among those detained. The police mistook him for one of the providers of intimate services rather than staff.

As a result, the blogger's phone was confiscated, he was shown on all television channels, and he was fined 117 hryvnia for prostitution. However, the complex's director ultimately resolved all the issues. Consequently, the blogger does not have a criminal record.
