Russian military blogger Mikhail Zvynchuk, known as the founder of the Telegram channel "Rybar", has once again found himself on Russian territory. This occurred following his detention in Montenegro.

Release and departure

Montenegrin authorities had held Zvynchuk on suspicion of attempting hybrid interference and destabilising the situation in the country. Eventually, local authorities decided to release him, but with the requirement that he immediately leave the state.

Immediately after his release, the blogger travelled to Serbia, from where he departed for Moscow.

Statements about Moscow's assistance

Upon returning home, Zvynchuk publicly thanked Russian authorities and security services for his release. He listed specific individuals and organisations that, according to him, facilitated his release. Among them, he named:

  • Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova;
  • Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev;
  • the state corporation Rostec.

It is worth noting that Dmitry Medvedev had previously publicly threatened to create a so-called "exchange fund" that would include citizens of European countries.
