Stable public stance
The results of a study by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) indicate that 61% of respondents categorically do not support the idea of territorial concessions in favour of Russia. This position remains unchanged even in a hypothetical scenario where such actions are conditioned by the receipt of security guarantees.
Impact of external factors
Sociologists note that neither the so-called "diesel deal" nor the escalation of Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities has led to a shift in public opinion towards greater readiness for compromises regarding borders.
Indicators for the capital
The highest level of opposition to such concessions has been recorded in Kyiv — 66% of the capital's residents are against it. It is worth noting that this firm position is formed despite the fact that the capital regularly suffers from missile and drone attacks by Russia.
