Strikes on targets in the Russian Federation's northern capital

On the night preceding October 18, unmanned aerial vehicles attacked the territory of Saint Petersburg and the adjacent Leningrad Oblast. According to data published by Russian mass media, impacts were recorded in the area of an oil terminal located in the port, as well as at the VK data centre.

In addition, according to reports, a substation and a cable-stayed bridge sustained damage. As a result of these events, power supply disruptions occurred not only in the city itself but also in neighbouring settlements in the oblast.

Airport restrictions and evacuation of people

Due to the attack, temporary restrictions were introduced at Pulkovo Airport. Russian media report that at the moment of the strike, passengers and airport staff were moved to shelters to ensure their safety.

Information status and prior actions by the Defence Forces

At present, the full picture of the scale of damage and possible consequences of this attack requires further verification.

As is known, previously, on October 12 and on the night before October 13, the Defence Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of strikes on a number of military facilities of the Russian army. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on these measures.
