Actor Rory Sykes, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, dies in fire

Actor Rory Sykes, who had cerebral palsy, tragically died at the age of 32 in a fire that engulfed his home in Malibu.

The man was trapped when the flames reached his cottage, and his mother, Shell, was unable to pull him out due to a hand injury. She managed to run outside and attempted to extinguish the fire using a garden hose, but the water supply was empty. 

Attempts to reach emergency services via 911 were unsuccessful, and in a panic, Shell decided to seek help. Unfortunately, by the time she found the firefighters, it was already too late.

Rory, realising that his chances of survival were minimal, asked his mother: «Мама, оставь меня, спасайся сама» (Mum, leave me, save yourself), she recalls with pain.
